FLISM Quality Assurance, Enhancement, and Technology Alignment Committee (FQAETAC)
The FLISM Quality Assurance, Enhancement, and Technology Alignment Committee (FQAETAC) plays a crucial role in upholding high standards of academic excellence. The committee is tasked with promoting a culture of excellence that reflects the quality excellence policy in line with the mission statement. It ensures that the policies are followed and the outcomes are gained in the form of excellence for the students and faculty members.
Responsibilities and Functions of FQAETAC
- To formulate adjustments to existing policies
- Deliver the recommendations to the President.
- Implement the recommendations
- Ensure all policy changes are thoroughly vetted and aligned with goals.
- Review student feedback gathered through monitoring and periodic surveys.
- Attend meetings with Student and faculty representatives.
- Conduct surveys to provide both students and faculty members the opportunity to make recommendations, ensuring their voices are heard and considered in policy-making.
FQAETAC Governance
The Florida Institute of Science and Technology’s official quality assurance policy defines the structure of FLISM. The quality assurance policy and practices are applied equally to all members, and all the faculty members are equal members of the Faculty Council, of which FQAETAC is a subcommittee.
The FQAETAC plays a critical role in ensuring that the quality assurance policy is accurately encoded in the Accreditation Management System. This ensures that the institute’s high standards are consistently met and enhanced.

Committee Composition and Meetings
- FQAETAC is responsible for monitoring and improving quality across the institute.
- The FQAETAC is composed of the President, the Dean, Faculty Representatives, and the Advisor for Equality and Diversity, appointed by the President.
- The recommendations from the committee are directly passed to the President.
- The committee holds regular meetings twice per year and extraordinary meetings once per month at the discretion of the chairman of the meeting.
